Welcome to Oshawa’s headquarters for the professional application of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the whole family. We believe in a team approach, which includes you and your healthcare team.
TCM promotes wellbeing for individuals of all ages (yes, even kids). It is built on the premise that good health relies on the restoration and maintenance of harmony and balance by empowering the body's own healing abilities.
The positive benefits of TCM include improved quality of life, increased ability to prevent bodily complications, shorter recovery periods, and a lessened dependence on drugs that have long-term side effects.
Through demands of health consumers, TCM has been rediscovered as we contribute to the World Health Organization motto: “Health for All.”
In Ontario, as of August 1, 2013, acupuncture services provided by registered members of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) will be accepted by most insurance companies through extended health coverages. We are currently providers through Provider Connect, TELUS Health eClaims, and now Blue Cross.
Effective November 2, 2013, registered members in Ontario will also be able to submit claims to the Health Care Automobile Insurance (HCAI) on behalf of their patients. WSIB claims by registered members will also be accepted soon (date to be confirmed).
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a wealth of medical knowledge developed in China from over 4,000 years of observation, investigation, and clinical experience.
TCM has evolved as an empirical science, and its theories and treatments have been repeatedly in use and refined over this long period of time. Now TCM is promoted by World Health Organization (WHO) in over 100 countries, including Canada, United States, and United Kingdom, attributed by the positive benefits of TCM: cost-efficiency, clinical efficacy, and the principle of "First, do no harm.”
The tools used in TCM encompass acupuncture, herbal medicine, gua sha, cupping, moxibustion, laser therapy, nutritional and lifestyle advice, Qigong, TCM orthopedics, laser therapy, and Tui Na. Depending on the individual’s case, one tool, or a combination of tools, would be used to support the healing process of the individual.
